Congratulations! Carr TKD has 2 new Blackbelts

I would like to extend my congratulations to Carr TKD newest Blackbelts, Mr Jacob Rhyno and Ms Terri Hennessey. Both were put through a highly challenging exam which included a fitness test, an written essay, all coloured belt patterns and technical questions, self defense, sparring and board breaking. They both pushed above and beyond my expectations. Great works "Sir" and "Ma'am"!

May 1- Promotion Test

The next promotion test will be Saturday, May 1.

Dartmouth @ 10 am. There is no class at Dartmouth due to potentially a large testing group. If you can attend class in Sackville this day, you are more than welcome.

Lr. Sackville @ 2 pm. Test will follow the 1pm class.

You MUST have your minimum classes attended, test fee and your completed Intent to Promote form submitted by the class previous to the test.

Family Fun Day raised $200 for Haiti Relief Efforts

We started the day with a grueling 2 hour training session for an upcoming tournament. It was a very difficult workout, however everyone did fantastic.

Then we had a combined class for 1 1/2 hours which Mr Carr taught some ground self defence basics which included breakfalls, guard and mount defenses and counters, and some submission holds. The members really enjoyed this.

The day concluded with an open gym and potluck. The members and their families came and played sports and used the gym equipment, and shared some delicious food.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Family Fun Day. And thank you to the South Woodside Community Ctr for the facility. We raised $200 towards the Haiti Relief efforts.

Master Cariati Seminar

On Jan 30, members from Carr TKD attended a fantastic seminar conducted by Master Joe Cariati, 8th Dan and President of the ICTF.

The morning seminar was for children, and the afternoon was for teen/ adults. He taught drills to improve sparring, pattern and physical conditioning.

Thank you to Master Cariati, for a great educational experience, and to the organizers, Fall River TKD and Leblanc TKD for hosting the seminar.

Carr TKD is excited about being apart of the ICTF and building TKD in Nova Scotia and Canada for the right reasons, with our colleagues at Leblanc TKD, Fall River TKD and Blue TKD.
